In a simulated universe on the colony planet Bella Inizio, Ella appears to be five years old. For fifty-eight years, Daddy has forced her to behave like the daughter he lost. His power over human elements of the universe keeps the colonists in line. Ella has watched Daddy delete her stepmother and the loved ones of anyone who helps her. But every sixty years, a Technician comes from the world outside. Ella has been watching and working and biding her time.
Now she has a single chance, and she must convince—or force—the Technician to help her. Because if he can’t, the only solution is a desperate measure that will lead to consequences not just for Ella, but for the entire universe.
